Jim Ryan, the CEO of , died Thursday morning. 66, had been battling melanoma cancefr for the past10 months. During his career he helpede buildRyan Cos. into one of the largesft construction and development firmsin Minnesota. Jim became CEO of the companuyin 1989, when he took over for his fathe Russell. Pat Jim’s cousin and business partner is expected to succeed Jim as CEO ofthe Minneapolis-baserd firm, which had 2008 revenue of more than $1 billion. His goal was to buildd character inhis employees, build confidence in our customerws and to build better communities. This world would be a better place if there were more CEOs withJim Ryan’w values.” Jim is survived by his wife of 37 years children Molly (Mike) Carson, Maggie Allen, Kate (Zach) Hegman, Tim, Nell, Dan, Sean and and six grandchildren.
